With her commit message of (translated) "WTF? Now it's completely messed up???", @piko demonstrates an important git trick:

If you took a wrong turn a few hours ago and now your stuff is a mess: Do a commit BEFORE starting the cleanup operation!

Often, it is not needed. But in maybe 5% of the cases, you'll later be happy you have it.

Such commits can be confined to your hard disk. Generally, there's no need to push it where other people can see it. git rebase helps you to squash it away!
