Mac users that also use Android, how do you transfer files and such? No MPT on the Mac that I can tell and the app I've tried, OpenMTP, is an Elektron app that I don't feel like dealing with.

@pixelate I'm no longer a mac user but I never found a reliable way to do this when I was. These days on Android to Linux I use PlainApp: https://f-droid.org/packages/com.ismartcoding.plain

It should work exactly the same way for any OS. You transfer through browser and only need to be on the same WiFi. It's a brilliant piece of software.

PlainApp: Phone Web Portal | F-Droid - Free and Open Source Android App Repository

Manage your phone on the web! Access files, contacts, videos, music & more.

@ephemeral Oh wait I just thought of a roundabout way, sync thing lol.
@pixelate I use commander One for Mac. It allows you to access android devices with MTP
@pixelate not directly but via a nextcloud server and nextcloud client apps on both devices
@pixelate Resilio Sync. I’ve been using it for years to transfer data between my Android phone, tablet, macOS and Linux devices.
@pixelate Resilio is similar to Syncthing. However, I find Resilio a bit easier to use. Above all, it allows you to selectively synchronise files from a shared folder. For example, my MD notes are synced to all my devices, but I have to explicitly select music and videos on my phone and tablet for synchronisation. Otherwise, the devices would become overloaded.
@pixelate There is one MPT app, forgot the name, but it’s shit - So meh...
I use a shared folder through Nextcloud.
Any cloud storage that has an Android app will work.
@pixelate I would just use Dropbox on both devices Then you're always good to go. Even with the iPhone I cannot recall the last time I physically sinked a file with either Mac or 'windows.
@pixelate I recently became fan of LocalSend app, which is free, Open Source, cross-every-platform and super simple to use.
