Reading about the HRT studies. DONE IN MY LIFETIME for cis women. All kinds of issues. Many of which trans people will recognise.

Also the same shit that comes up in trans “what is a woman” keeps coming up. Women are for reproduction. Women are for men (sex or looking after them)

There was one anecdote in a book were a dude took his wife to the doctor with a gun & said to the doctor “fix her or I’ll kill her”. The doctor tells this to show the efficacy of his methods

This is endless. Trans people need to see none of it is new to us. It’s been going on forever (and ask non white people!!! Oh also racist replies will be straight up blocked. If you are trans and racist fuck you. You understand nothing)

Trans people are living through _our_ “no Irish no blacks” period. We need to do what everyone else did. Keep fighting. No it’s not great. But we ain’t going away

BUT do read histories of resistance. There is hope too. But none of us (not just trans people) are there yet

@junklight

But we ain’t going away

It's not like we have a choice about it.

@KatS I kind of meant staying visible - which I feel as an older trans person I almost have a moral duty to do

but yeah :-)

Just angry with lots of shit but also the whole "OMG history repeating" - this book on menopause is full of stuff directed at cis women that we now get constantly - never ending patriarchy !

@junklight Oh, that. Yes, we do have a choice about whether to hide, and we're choosing not to.

Of all the stupid movies to influence me about things like this: Soul Man.
