SofieZwiebelI don’t think doing everything yourself is novelty. AI isn’t the point at which people started using other people's talent. I find the idea of artists freely training an open source gen AI together even interesting. I think about consent, who owns the tech, the environment and the communities near data centers. I don't know what she used AI for besides the animation. I think she’s doing what many artists and designers have done. Using the errors as a feature, in her case, a certain weirdness.
I agree with that; a tool in itself raises the question of whether it is being used correctly by the person employing it. And thoughtful creativity should be aware of what it is conveying and creating. When it comes to AI, there is unfortunately a lack of civic and social cultivation; the propaganda rubbish and its use as a weapon of war highlight deliberate misuse as the primary focus. Open-source is indeed one approach; unfortunately, for Grock and Claude GPT, it is merely an ‘ethics-washing’
