I love coming across machines that were loved. This obviously started as an original Mac with 128K, but then got a 512K board, 800k upgrade, and then a New Life SCSI and 4mb ram upgrade. This machine was used for at least ten years. #marchintosh
@nrmelnick Nice! I used mine daily for about 5 years, same trajectory: loved it, couldn't afford a new machine, but could (barely) afford the 800k drive and Dove SCSI/2MB+ROM upgrade to keep it going.
@_the_cloud love it! My fist Mac was a 512Ke that we got in 87, and I used it until probably 1993. It had a 20mb hard disk, but never had the funds to do upgrades beyond that. Ended up replacing it with a Compaq 386 which was also outdated, but with actual memory and more than monochrome. Hah.
