Four images taken tonight at the University Bellringing practice. Went along to get some photos and video for the newsletter and website, so thought I may as well indulge in some photography for myself as well.
For non-ringers, the bells upset sign doesn't mean someone has been mean to them! Its a warning sign that the bells are in the up position, resting with the mouth of the bell facing upwards, and it is therefore dangerous to pull on the ropes unless you know what you're doing.

@rebeccabanner Bellringers are (I find) difficult to photograph as a subject. I've tried and failed. But you nailed it.
@wvmierlo Thank you for the compliment! It's definitely difficult and I was really please how well this came out. I've found you need to get the picture when they're holding the sally for context, so you can see they're ringing bells, not just standing around holding onto the end of a piece of (usually wobbly) rope suspended from the ceiling.
