@mjtsai The Contacts app in Tahoe makes me want to recreate the BeOS People app for Mac.
@jblake I want to rewrite almost all the apps. 😠
@mjtsai @jblake Sometimes I wonder if there's a way we can get enough of us together and just make a new operating system and default app suite. That's probably crazy... probably…
@dmd @mjtsai @jblake As a lark I spent the last 5 years designing an OS that assumes our modern hardware (large multiprocessing/large amounts of RAM/fast storage and networking). It’s all high level, but also looks to elegant or interesting solutions of the past like NeXT, Taligent, Be, etc)

I'm in!
I am happy to write the new Finder 😎🤗

@dmd @mjtsai @jblake It certainly was a record breaking year of heretical thoughts of all kinds. 🏴‍☠️
Apple did “really well” with 26.
@dmd @mjtsai @jblake At the very least I had hope that this will be an opportunity for 3rd party apps. But there was too little of resistance and attempts to show Apple how to design. Mostly concept design posts of “look I can design way better modern Finder UI” and such. But when it comes to real apps, announcement after announcement everything was just getting all the glass UX “gems”. With couple of notable mentions of partial attempts of Sketch and Things. I just stopped updating apps at all.
