I fully admit I'm not okay right now.

I have lost so many clients to this country. Every single one mattered. They were all good people. But because they were Black, or Indigenous, or Brown, or SWANA, or trans, or Muslim, or poor, their lives didn't matter. And they died.

And meanwhile I get death threats for saying their lives mattered, or that they shouldn't be on the street, from people who never knew them parroting racist drivel about how if they were facing eviction or incarceration they should have just gotten a job or something.

I am sick of trying to explain to a mindless institution why we should all give a damn about what happens to our fellow human beings. I'm sick of bad people profiting from good people suffering. I'm sick of people acting like this is the only way to run a country.

@theleftistlawyer A capitalist system will never see people as anything but a cog in a machine that drives profit for capitalists. You will have to fight for systemic change, but please don't stop fighting, people like you matter and vulnerable people depend on you. Think of the ones you help and even when you can't save them, you make it harder for those monsters to hurt others.
