DuckDuckGo: "Let's do a survey. What do our users want?"

DDG Users: "Fuck AI."

DDG: "So we should build our own index to better train AI? And offer more AI in our premium plan? Got it."

@nateb On the other hand DDG is the only, somehow usable search engine, that offers completely AI free experience https://noai.duckduckgo.com 😦

@clergyman Strongly disagree. Kagi, Mojeek, Qwant, SearXNG, and Waterfox all offer AI-free experiences, and Brave offers no AI but you do have to make an account and sign in. I'm biased but personally I'm impressed at how much Brave makes all their features optional, including the crypto and AI.

@nateb I like Brave and from time to time I use their search engine as well, however the AI crap bothers me and I'm not creating account for a search engine. Any search engine.

Kagi is paid. And Watefox as well (as I discovered just now). Qwant shows me captcha constantly (similiar to StartPage).

I'll check Mojeek. Thanks!

(Currently I'm building a new NAS and SearXNG is on my list of apps to try to self-host.)
