The e-mail-shattered remnants of Swedish Mail can't afford to pay mailmen to deliver mail to individual houses in our housing area anymore. Part of the reason is that much of it is large mail-order packages these days.

So they've just told us that they expect us to put our mailboxes in one spot at the boundary line of the area, like how it's done in peripheral summer house areas.

Give it a few years and you'll end up where we are, with no letter delivery by PostNord at all.

And only mail delivered on wednesdays.

@mrundkvist Don't talk to me about Swedish Mail. Expected a heavy package delivery Monday evening, between 5 pm and 10 pm. Stayed home all evening. At 7:25, get a text message saying we could not be reached for delivery so we'd have to go pick it up ourselves somewhere inconvenient. No phone call, no door bell. Just a barefaced lie. Absolute joke.

@mrundkvist Happened to my folks years ago. I think they only get post every few days as well? Nuts. I feel so lucky Royal Mail still delivers six days a week (for now) - and to our front door at that!

On a typical week, my paper mail is sadly completely dull.
