My retro CPU app is now out. Lots of information on your favourite 8-bit and 16-bit processors. It’s all free too - so give it a look! Instruction sets, pin-outs, sample code and more!

P.S. if you like it please leave a review. The App Store search algorithm effectively hides anything that isn’t already popular.

@GrantMeStrength Done. Works on the Mac despite not being, what's their term, validated? for it. Some quirks like non-resizable info windows.

Thanks!

@ednl yeah I need to make the info windows better in iPads and Macs. On the list for 1.3.
@GrantMeStrength I realise I have no idea how to do this if an app doesn’t pop up an annoying request to do so!
@RobeeShepherd next version will include the ability to rate from the settings menu because I’m silly and left that out (you need to go back to the App Store).
@RobeeShepherd ok the update is out. Speak your brains the easy way!
@GrantMeStrength done! I didn't even realize when I was testing it the extra info about each processor under the I!
BTW, If you want to play with REAL CPUs I can totally recommend https://www.tindie.com/stores/8bitforce/

@GrantMeStrength I just realized I bought the Z80 version of this a bunch of years ago. I thought it sound familiar. It is indeed very cool!
@apple4ever I used the 6502 version to verify my 6502 emulator in Virtual KIM.
Update is out. Taking requests for new features and bug fixes for v1.2!
@GrantMeStrength what a trip down memory lane! Still remember many KIM-1 6502 op codes, but have forgotten the old 1802 ones used on a COSMAC ELF. Thanks and enjoy the coffee.
@GrantMeStrength Another great app John, looking through the Z80/6502/68000 sections - brings back memories of coding (really bad) games in assembler in my teenage years. So much info in there! I can remember some 6502 opcodes from the days before I found a good Atari 800 assembler :)
@GrantMeStrength
Looks really great! Thank you for sharing.

@GrantMeStrength Seems to work on iPad too. Nice.

A weird glitch: When I first started the app, it erroneously showed 6502's BRA instruction available on all models, although the instruction was grouped in the correct place (just before PHX). When I restarted the app, it correctly showed BRA as 65C02-exclusive.

Edit: 9th-generation iPad in landscape orientation, iPadOS 26.2.1, British English UI, Finnish locale.

@GrantMeStrength Almost worth getting an iPhone for

@GrantMeStrength This is awesome! I especially love all the info about the CPUs and their use in popular machines (like the Z80 in the Spectrum) in the info panels. Amazing work, thank you!

Just a quick note, in dark mode I can’t read the names of those CPUs at all. Aside from that I love the app, and it’s definitely going to help me since I want to learn Z80 assembly.

@arroz thanks - there is a fix on the way!
