Question for sports fans out there…

With respect to top flight professional sports (NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, MLS, etc.) when—if ever—is it okay to change team loyalties?

A) When you move to a new city
B) Your team is so bad they haven’t won a championship in over a decade
C) Any time you want, you’re a grown-ass man
D) Never, you faithless Jezebel

@mihobu I may diversify my allegiances, but it's more like having a soft spot for another team/player/driver (I'm into motorsports a lot) than full blown support. I'm and will be a fan of the team no matter what.

It's acceptable to change when there is a change in ownership, or when the current owner is revealed to be a rich subhuman bigot.

@mihobu In the end, it's just entertainment. Unconditional love is for children and pets, not sports teams. I'm a massive supporter of my local club, but my love is VERY conditional.

@mihobu One of my favorite songs in the South Ward at Red Bulls games is a variation of "We Love you Metro, we do…" except it's "We Love you, Metro… sometimes… We love you Metro… sometimes… OH! Sometimes we love you…"
@mihobu Reading Scott's reply makes me realise I'm not actually a 'fan' of anything, by his definition. In that I'm not a fanatic for any sport other than, maybe, tennis.
