Today's #TuneTuesday theme of #UnexpectedWhiplash has a slew of songs that alternate between a heavy metal sound and something lighter in genres like jazz, pop, rock, etc.
But how about a soulful pop song that cuts to...uhhh, some screaming clowncore?

Even though that song is maybe a better fit for the theme, the first thing that came to mind was the work of Geinoh Yamashirogumi, as they often blend different traditional Japanese music styles with orchestral, funk, electronic, and more. The Akira soundtrack is an all-time favorite of mine.

With Tetsuo, you chill out to the good old microtonal gamelan, and then the pipe organ and massive choir come in with an earth-shaking DAAAAAAAAN. Gives me goosebumps every time.
