House Oversight Chair James Comer on Tuesday issued a subpoena to Attorney General Pam Bondi to appear for a deposition on April 14 as part of the panel’s Jeffrey Epstein probe. Comer wrote in the subpoena cover letter that his panel is investigating the “possible mismanagement of the federal government’s investigation” into Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell. “The Committee has questions regarding the Department of Justice’s handling of the investigation into Jeffrey Epstein and his associates and its compliance with the Epstein Files Transparency Act,” Comer wrote, referring to the law passed by Congress last year mandating the Justice Department’s release of the files.

I’m European, lacking detailed understanding. Is it correct that the only way to do anything other than a slight flex, would be to have Bondi charged with a specific offence and taken through a judicial court process?

Idk how they’d even do that. The judicial branch doesn’t really have any enforcement. The executive branch (headed by Bondi’s child rapist boss) is in charge of levying charges and arresting.

Perjury (lying under oath) is punishable but still, she could most likely get away with it. She has already (along with obstruction).

Idk where you’re from but I hope you’ve got it better than we do. Shit is getting bleaker by the day.

This is all Federal anyway. If it starts to smell like charges might be coming for Blondi, Trump will pardon her.

Perjury (lying under oath) is punishable

Lying to Congress, under oath or not, is a crime, however, when that happens, all Congress can do is refer the matter to the DoJ for prosecution. As you can imagine, the DoJ would do nothing in this case. There is no other mechanism for enforcement.
