the next release from the owsley stanley archive is... john kirkpatrick performing charles ives's "concord sonata" in march 1974, recorded at phil lesh's behest/insistence. got a preview at the dead scholars caucus last month & it's one of bear's most gorgeous tapes. https://www.facebook.com/OwsleyStanleyFoundation/posts/pfbid02M3qcLEGETqTJhLb3RdHGJhxeyXN5PGt1Bq1rt5HxtXMQ4a9VK4tFbiYLiD18m3Uel
part of the story is owsley & the dead were dosing together & driving around berkeley in different cars in early '66 & all tuned into the concord sonata, guessing this feb. 5th broadcast on KPFA, right before they moved to LA. (hell yeah to @archive.org & pacifica program guides!)
