still amuses/scares me that this giant thing is considered "mid-size" in the usa
@decryption imsorrywhatthefuck? 10 years ago my Volvo XC60 was considered mid-size, and it doesn’t look that big anymore compared to a VW Tiguan which was a “small” at the time…
@jpm the cars keep growing!

@decryption @jpm

Need to start taxing them based on weight and bonnet height.

And probably reform the ancap\adr stuff

Meanwhile, goget just leave little Kia Picantos all around the neighbourhood that you can just use, and they're great.

I needed a hire car on a recent work trip. I got to the service desk, and the guy looked at me (tall) and the corporate travel booking. I'm sure he's trained to try an upsell, but he put genuine empathy into the "I'm sorry, it looks like they've booked you a very small car, would you like an upgrade?"

I played cagey (I made the booking myself).. are you offering a free upgrade? what have they given me?

"It's a Kia Picanto currently."

"Hell yeah, they're great!"

That got a big smile, he likes them too.

Turns out, it was brand new and had ~160km on the clock. Also, I drove something like 80km and returned it still showing full on the gauge without adding fuel.

Speaking of small nice cars. Atto1 is really nice inside and goes so well. Kinda wish they had a version with nicer options but for what it is it's super comfy\tiny and drives better than my gti ever did.
