I would be remiss if I did not mention that I still have a Patreon and a Ko-Fi page, via which I make tiny little chips in the monumental block of expense this hobby loves to drop on my head.

Yes, I am planning to make a limited run of these knives which will be available for sale at some point in the future. And yes, all of you nerds on Lemmy will have the first dibs on them once I figure out the logistics and deal with the headache of deciding how best to flog them online.

Yeah, I’m not reading the entire post.

Happy for you.

Or sorry that it happened.

I write long form content about this stuff. It’s how it is. If that’s not the content for you, that’s okay! But maybe ignoring it or blocking this community from your feed (I won’t even get mad about it, honest!) is a better strategy than spending your effort moaning about it.

110 to 220 transformer should be ok, as long as it doesn’t start buzzing like a microwave. (That’s a sign that the iron core is poorly made out separating)

Or you could get a 240v dryer/oven/ev-charger outlet installed and then bypass the transformer all together.

240 in the workshop is on the agenda but I need to do other electrical work first. Some day, but not today.

Truth be told, I’m more suspicious of the janky “universal” socket on the thing than the transformer itself. I’ve seen enough Big Clive videos to see how that sort of thing goes.
