“Would you take a million dollars if it means someone you don’t know dies?” is a question every billionaire has answered an innumerable number of times with an emphatic yes
@rooster I wonder what the cost per life for the average billionaire is, ie the number you’d get if you divided their wealth by the number of human lives that ended in a way that can be clearly attributed to their acquisition of said wealth.

@rooster

think they've probably done it for less to be honest

@rooster Do I get a guarantee that the "someone" is a billionaire? 🤔
@rooster I suspect that it's something almost every inhabitant of the developed world has answered with an emphatic yes many times. But they haven't been offered a million dollars, just cheap beef, convenient transport, consumer electronics and fast fashions.
@rooster basically the entire job of a health insurance exec

@rooster There are several people I don't know, but I know their names

If it could be one of them, then give me the money

@rooster @gvwilson “wait, can I still kill someone I *DO* know too, or will that not work any more?”

@rooster Harry Lime's words echo down through the years.

@rooster

They high five each other for a lot less.

Extra credit for killing off someone they know for money, and top of the list for bumping off an -ex, or even grandma.

@rooster Although it may be true... I think your assertion rather puts you in the position of having to prove the assertion.
