I've already run this by the family and they are in. If this bid is accepted. The con is shortly before my birthday and shortly after my wife's and will be the summer between my kid graduating high school and (presumably) starting college. This sounds like a big time.

I wonder if this would be one @ScottEdelman and Irene would go to? or @ScottSigler ? This could be an ugly American party down under!

@geniodiabolico @ScottSigler Save for the Chengdu Worldcon, which I boycotted because I knew if I went I'd have to speak out against Sergey Lukianenko and for the Ukraine, which would have gotten me in trouble, I haven't missed a Worldcon since 1999, so I'll definitely be going to either Nuremberg or Brisbane, whichever wins. If Brisbane does win, be sure to leave time for the total eclipse, which the con moved its bid weekend near to allow.

@ScottEdelman @ScottSigler Nothing against our Deutsche freunden but I'm really pulling for Brisbane. SF + footy is a pretty unmissable combination. That would also be our last summer with the kid probably so everything is lining up. If Sigler and A go, I'm sure they are down with footy. Sweetens the pot for sure.

I've been to Sydney twice for work but both times were in November which is too late to see an AFL game. Possibly still in season for AFLW.
