Darya, 24, and Donya, 20, were studying to become medical nurses at the University West campus in Trollhättan, SW Sweden and had been in Sweden for 7 years after being granted temporary residence because they were related to their father, but when they turned 18 being related was removed as grounds for residency and the (anti-)Migration Agency decided to deny them work permit due bureaucratic nonsense (had extra work as carer and at major hamburger chain, but hadn't gotten those through the Govt Public Employment Service due to the employers' fault, which was corrected when they found out).

At a meeting with the (anti-)Migration Agency after already having begun their medical nurse studies they were told that they had to leave Sweden to apply for a new permit… while in Iran, so they had to pause their studies with university slot reserved for their return this latest October to go to Iran in spite of not having social network and having lost much of the Farsi ("Iranian") language already due to integration in Sweden, but then the Agency decided that naah they had not proven that they really had the intent to study (which they had already begun doing Agency interrupted), so now they are stuck under the mass-murderous Iran-theocracy while their family, father and mother, still live in Sweden.

Now even "Migration Agency ethics board member resigns [...] in protest over government legislation to deport teenagers whose residence permits cannot be extended after they turn 18" in Sweden, says it is against the constitution.

"Sweden's [anti]-Migration Agency has ruled to deport 8-month-old Emanuel [depicted], who was born in Sweden, to his parents' homeland of Iran [...].
The rest of the family has residence permits and the parents work in Sweden."
Public Service radio of Sweden, in English: https://www.sverigesradio.se/artikel/born-in-sweden-baby-emanuel-to-be-deported-to-iran

When Ilya was 8 years old he came to Sweden from Iran with mother, then went through all of the regular school which ends at age 18/19 in Sweden.
Ilya had temporary residency because Ilya as his mother's son is a close family member, but when Ilya turned 15 they applied for permanent residency also for Ilya, reports major newspaper Aftonbladet.

Then nothing happened for 3 years,
until "a few days after I turned 18 we got a letter home from the Migration Agency that they would now begin processing our application", says Ilya.

Then 7 months after Ilya turned 18 there came a ruling from the Migration Agency: His mother got permanent residency, but Ilya shall be deported, because he now no longer counts as close family of his mother, even though still living with mother and going to last year of school.
Ilya was going to be deported Feb 13, today, but due to the pause in deportations to Iran due to the massacres he can continue going to school until deportations resume.

"If they hadn't waited several years before handling my case I would have been allowed to continue my life here. I have lived here for over 10 years, I hardly remember anything from Iran", says Ilya, "It is unfair that our futures are destroyed by application processing times".

The 8-months-old baby Emanuel must be deported to Iran, while the parents stay, confirms the (anti-)Migration Agency of Sweden's press manager to Public Service radio, claiming that "there is nothing to hook" the the residency of the baby born in Sweden to.
https://todon.eu/@b9AcE/116062123141965264
Decision that baby Emanuel (pic 1) must be deported alone to Iran after being born in Sweden 8 months ago, lived all that time in Sweden and both parents (which Emanuel lives with) have residency permit in Sweden, is the only decision allowed by the law claimed the (anti-)Migration Agency,
but now the expert Louise Dane, jurist at the Asylum Rights Center says that is incorrect, that there are several exceptions the Agency could have applied, created to ensure that deportation rulings won't violate international law, like the Convention on the Rights of the Child, and could have applied the exception for "exceptionally distressing circumstances" (the Agency explains the term: https://www.migrationsverket.se/en/word-explanations/exceptionally-distressing-circumstances.html), or the Agency could evaluate Emanuel's "connection to Sweden as a country", since Emanuel can not be considered connected to the parents according to the law, and Sweden "is the ONLY country Emanuel has lived in, so even though it is a short time, it is the child's entire life", explains Dane,
but the press manager at the Agency (pic 2) tells Public Service radio regarding their decision that "we feel safe in it, it is the decision we have made".

Public Service radio reporter: "Now there is sharp criticism from the Ombudsman for Children [govt agency: https://www.barnombudsmannen.se/english/] against the declaration that baby Emanuel who is 8 months old [pic right side] has gotten a deportation decision in spite of that the parents get to stay in Sweden. Ombudsman for Children, Juno Blom [pic left side]:"

The Ombudsman for Children: "This of course is not compatible with the Convention on the Rights of the Child, and all common sense says so. It is definitely not worthy of Sweden as a country. […] That it is even possible to interpret a law in such a way that one shall be able to deport an 8 months old baby to Iran, certainly we all then realize that the law has become completely wrong. This should not be possible. I also believe that it is caused by that one has not included the child's perspective when one makes vast changes and therefore it becomes so important that one always, when making vast changes, look at 'how does that affect children?' and take that into consideration, so we avoid this kind of insane outcomes."

Leader of hate-based party which rules the govt belatedly objected too following major public outrage, with proposed "solution" deportation of the baby be paused until "when the parents" (who have residency permits) are deported.

Today Gabriella, 8, is deported from Sweden, away from grandma, after being born and grown up in Sweden, but new rules meant dad Jonathan's salary isn't enough for the anti-immigration minimum and while mommy Silvia salary is over the limit that doesn't matter because Silvia's residency permit was as related to Jonathan, so they're all kicked out to El Salvador and only once they are there are allowed to start looking for new employment, after which they can apply for work permit, Gabriella come back home to Sweden again, and the family reunited... unless rules change for the worse again.

Jonathan Perez and family were just 2 months from being able to apply for permanent residency, but now being deported they would have to start accumulating time lived in Sweden again from zero, to be allowed to apply next time.

"All the years vanished. Everything we learned, everything we acquired. We must start from zero again", Jonathan told major newspaper Aftonbladet.
"We will come back to Gabriella home country", said Silvia on being forced to leave Forsbacka, the only place Gabriella has lived.
Forsbacka held two torch marches, a demo and more for getting to keep the family, but now they will hold a big party in Forsbacka when the Perez come back home.

Human Rights Watch now on "Sweden Deporting Young People" https://www.hrw.org/news/2026/02/19/sweden-deporting-young-people as I have previously written about in this thread (plus a bit related also in https://todon.eu/@b9AcE/116064504492153026 that recent thread too).
Sweden Deporting Young People

Ayla, 21, Jomana, 18, and Ilya, 19, came to Sweden as children, though at different ages and under different circumstances. Today they face the same reality: all have been ordered to leave the country alone while their families remain.

After 14 years in Sweden Zaina, 23, will now be deported while rest of the family, parents and younger brother, get permanent residency in Sweden, reports major newspaper Expressen, just because due to law change Zaina is no longer considered a close relative of her parents.

Zaina studied at the technology program (extra math-focus, usually leading to engineering, programming, architecture, etc) during gymnasium school in the town Gävle, then studied design three years at university college, and now works as an extra teacher and special education teacher at a school back home in Gävle, while also working as a youth volleyball coach reportedly very successfully a main contributor to "volleyball fever" in the town.

Alice (pic 2 left) , 15, comments "It is horrible. It is not just Zaina, there are many being affected by this. But this is our coach. Whom we know. Like, it's Zaina!? She is wonderful. She is more than a coach. A safe, adult role model." and others on team describe Zaina as "role model!", "big sister I never got", "sunshine!".
Thousands have signed protests around Gävle.

Asked why she should get to stay in her home Zaina says having always done what one should, staying out of trouble "then I can not understand such a decision" and "I have gotten so much but I want to give back".

Tabitha must be deported without the family to Uganda in three weeks, while the 4 siblings get to stay with mother Josephine and stepdad in Sweden. Stepdad is Swedish citizen and father of Tabitha's 4 siblings but not Tabitha because the mother met the stepdad after having Tabitha, so now the siblings are citizens but Tabitha must be deported.
Mother Jospehine says "Uganda is not a good country for young women. I am worried she will be exploited or [forcibly] married off".

Tabitha was going to graduate Gymnasium School (normally ages 15/16 to 18/19) this summer, to then go on studying to become ambulance medical nurse, but now because the laws were changed retroactively so Tabitha was put in a gap and thus considered not a close relative of her parent and siblings but also not tied to the country she has lived in for years, nor time to get own permanent residency/citizenship,
there will instead be deportation away from home in 3 weeks.

The shameful "teen deportations" (also including e.g. baby) will continue from Sweden, as the proposal to pause the infamous deportations due to a law change of lone children, to where they have often never been and have no connections, was rejected at the parliament's Committee on Social Insurance because all the government alliance parties and the hate-based party who rules them voted against on the pretext that they are "working on" a committee proposal for a new changed law... which doesn't help those being deported right now, and have been deported already.
All the other parties voted for the proposal to pause the deportations until a "solution".
Simply due to having arrived 7 years ago BEFORE the adoption was approved, after their mother suddenly died and their aunt fetched them and then adopted them to ensure they would not be forced to orphanage, siblings Sarah and Joseph Khonde must now be deported to back USA where they have no relatives, nothing (according to both themselves and the agency), away from their aunt in their home Sweden who is now also their adoptive mother, and the aunt/mother's husband, who are both citizens of Sweden, reports local Public Service radio.
They are not allowed to appeal the decision and can now be deported any moment, because they arrived when they as children needed help after the mother's death instead of waiting for bureaucracy of the (anti-)Migration Agency of Sweden infamous for many years of processing times.

More from the (anti-)Migration Minister, whose son was documented as a Nazi brutality-club campaigner:
"Citizenship lobby group: It's frustrating and embarrassing to listen to Sweden's migration minister"
https://www.sverigesradio.se/artikel/citizenship-lobby-group-its-frustrating-and-embarrassing-to-listen-to-swedens-migration-minister
The Minister is also severely bending the truth in the response. The norm is as the Minister states that new laws take effect completely from some set particular date, that is true, BUT then it is written so that it applies to NEW applications AFTER that date, NOT also to applications that were made many years ago under different rules as they were at the time before the politicians of Sweden started literally bragging for votes about which of them had already or will further create the harshest (=most inhumane) migration policies in all of Europe, which Sweden now has long surpassed.

It is extremely abnormal to make legislation apply retroactively, that is a supposed core principle of legislative tradition since all of its existence, since you can't have it be absolutely legal today to wear socks but then suddenly 10 years later a new law makes it a whipping and lifetime imprisonment crime applying retroactively through all of past history. That is absurd and abnormal.

@b9AcE
This is entirely down to working men in small towns who have increasingly voted fascist for the past 15 years. Their party decides whether the Conservative Swedish Prime Minister gets to keep his job from one day to another.

#svpol

@mrundkvist That's the basis for why I describe the government usually as something like "hate-based party ruled government of Sweden", which confuses some people, because it is a very unusual construct through worldwide history for a non-government party to rule the government party/ies... yet, here we are.

@b9AcE
The worst assholes here are actually the "Liberal" party, who are *also* absolutely necessary for keeping this government in office. They have consequently collapsed in the polls and will no longer be a feature of Sweden's political landscape less than 7 months from now. Not even in local government.

#svpol

@mrundkvist Mhmm. I mean... through their collaboration they have actively abolished their previous strongly implied rationale for even existing, their distinct variance from the other Bourgeoisie Bloc options where the "Liberals" party were previously positioned as something like a less egregious variant of the most authoritarian right-wing of the traditional parties PR-incorrectly named the "Moderates" while never moderate but several decades ago at least prominently claiming "freedom" in slogans while still economic elitist (right-wing).
But now, like... if there is no perceivable difference between Party L or Party M, then maybe it's just time for them to merge... is what it seems to me the general potential voters populace is signaling. Otherwise, they could try changing their recent-ish adopted party-logo from penis to just a brown doormat.
@b9AcE sometimes you have to wonder what logic there is in this world and how inhumaine some people can be.
@b9AcE salary limits, literally one rule for the rich and another for the poor.
@ghouston Mhmm. If people's salaries being too low is a problem, then the answer would be to strengthen the unions, but the right-wing can't do that so instead they kick down, weakening the weakened, until nobody remains strong enough in the productive classes to be productive to support the parasitic ruling class, and then they wonder why the economy collapsed, trying to just squeeze the workers harder and harder.
@b9AcE the cruelty around here is so depressing
@bangskij It's as if humanity itself had been deported, leaving only viciousness.
@b9AcE
So cruel and unnecessary. 😪

@b9AcE

Seems like they will correct this dumb action rather than double down on it.
