We hebben (bijna) 500 volgers in de Fediverse! Dat is echt heel tof. Helemaal in het begin schreven we dat we niet helemaal wisten of we wel of niet automatisch nieuwsberichten zouden doorplaatsen. Tot gister deden we dat niet.

Nu dus wel. Toch willen we geen bot-account zijn en met 7 auto-berichten per dag lijkt ons dat te doen. Zie het als je Scientias-rss-feed op Mastodon. :)

Verder kunnen we helaas geen alt-tekst plaatsen in plaatjes op die auto-manier. Als dit toch kan: let us know!

Not sure what you are using to post, but even Buffer allows alt- text and the scheduling has nothing to do with it.

@rlcw Hi Becca, I've never heard of Buffer, but checking it out now! I see you can connect the RSS, but you cannot see how to automate posting (or the alt-text of an image). We use dlvr.it currently

Activity Pub definitely allows it technically and it's just a question of whether or not the software you use also supports it. Quick search says RSS also has ways to add alt texts. So maybe check in with dlvr.it if they support this (and if they don't, tell them you want it).

@rlcw Someone just answered that he checked the api docs and that people ask for the feature, but it does not exist (yet). DLVR.it does not support it, maybe Buffer does, I'll see in the upcoming post if it reads the alt text.

@scientias Ik heb de API docs erop nageslagen en het lijkt erop dat die feature (nog) niet bestaat. Vorig jaar april heeft iemand dit wel aangevraagd maar het is nog niet geïmplementeerd, lijkt het...

(Ik heb een python interface gebouwd maar die kan ook geen alt-text toevoegen helaas.)
