JoshuaFalkenThis kind of reminds me of desire paths. If these ruts were gravelled, I wonder if that would be the end of the problem or if other dirt paths would show up. From this and another article I saw, I’m unsure if this is people joyriding, or just people taking the most direct path through the park.
[Parks and planning director] said the city has skate parks and bike parks, but there is no designated public space for e-bikes. The district conducted outreach and “didn’t get any feedback from the community that would be interested in providing a place,” he said.
If this is people riding around for the fun of it, maybe a dirt pump track would be a nice addition to the community.
Improper e-bike use causes recreation and park district thousands in Newbury Park area
Two area parks will have to undergo repairs after sustaining thousands of dollars in damage caused by e-bikes, park authorities said.
