The resistance against age verification is growing.

There's now a dedicated Linux distro that stands against it. πŸ˜ΌπŸ—Ώ

Ageless Linux Emerges to Protest OS-Level Age Verification Laws

And thankfully, it's more than just a Linux distro without age verification.

It's FOSS

@itsfoss This isn't a distro so much as just a script that changes the ID of the distro. Their GitHub link gives a 404 error.

Literally nothing to see here.

@distrowatch @itsfoss It's a project to legally challenge a policy that was written by big tech lobbyists to marginalize alternatives to their products. One might disagree with their strategy, but I don't see why they would waste their time writing a custom DE for their legal argument.
@random_regret @itsfoss My point was they don't have a distro, they don't have an operating them. They are not actually protesting because their script in no way fits the definition of an OS. It is a completely empty gesture. And their repository for the script is not even online, the link gives a file not found error.
@distrowatch @itsfoss Listen either read whats on their website or don't. These guys have started a project to catch the lawsuit before it hits a real distro, who might not be legally prepared for it. If it works out as a legal tactic or not will be shown in court. But they are quite literally trying to take one for the team, so cut them some slack ffs
@random_regret @itsfoss No they aren't trying to "take one for the team". That's my issue. No one is going to take them to court because what they are doing has nothing to do with the law they claim to be against. They don't product anything, they aren't a vendor for anything, they don't meet any of the requirements for an operating system. No one is going to sue them. The "project" accomplishes nothing.
@distrowatch @itsfoss
Ok this is getting repetitive now.
Please just take a deep breath. It's just some people on the internet who are trying to fight a stupid law. It might work, it might not, but they're making an effort.
Maybe have a walk or a cigarette or something. And then have a look at their website ( https://agelesslinux.org/ ). And actually read the thing. In good faith. They are explaining quite clearly what they're doing.
