WhyrlI feel like chat/messenger apps have regressed since the 90s.
You used to be able to set a status or away message in such apps, but these days I guess you're expected to be available 24/7?
Colin@whyrl statuses rarely deterred me from sending a message, but they at least set expectations as far as if and when a response was coming.
In the days of zero chat/activity status… there’s a reason why I leave chats unread. If folks take it personal that’s their own deal. But yeah I wish they made a comeback so that whole feeling could be alleviated.
