Before my unintentional hiatus from #YouTube, they were already pretty far down the enforced "AI" path. So I'm not exactly surprised to see that this is how comments awaiting reply are presented to me now, but I am very disappointed and more than a little grossed out.

But hey, if you want to watch my videos and know my replies are real and not just the result of tired fingers mashing the wrong thing, you can always follow me on #PeerTube instead at @michellemay (full channel page at https://makertube.net/@michellemay).

There's even an RSS feed, for the extra cool folks 😉

@thegiddystitcher @michellemay I wouldn't normally pimp out my YT channel on another person's thread, but I actually made a video about tips to lessen AI slop in your YT feed this week. If you'd like to see it the link's in my profile.

That said, I hate it too. HATE IT.

@FlashMobOfOne Oh no you're fine, that sounds useful tbh. I mostly stick to subscriptions and specific searches these days, but the amount they've managed to cram in on the creator side in my absence is just jarring.

@thegiddystitcher It's true. I get excited any time I get a new sub, and the other day I got one from 'Elon Musk Private Chat'.

HA.

Being on Mastodon and Lemmy, though, has conditioned me to having to put forth more effort in my social media, so I mind less that I have to click so many buttons to get rid of junk on my YT feed.
