Big boss wants me (of all people) to take part in a panel about AI-driven software development. Boy is she going to regret it!

Anyway.

Keeping in mind that "AI baaaad and you're terrible person for using it" does not work as a talking point outside of the tiny fediverse bubble, I'm going to focus on code review as the largest issue. Here is what I came up with, please add anything (fact-based and presentable to a general audience).

@creepy_owlet there was a good talk yesterday at #fossback about the legal problems with LLM-generated code under European law, delivered by two lawyers .... tldr; if the LLM reproduces copyrighted code but not the copyright itself (or changes it!) this is almost certainly a major liability!

Unfortunately, it's not something I can bring to the group in question since IANAL and I assume actual lawyers somehow vetted all this... But I'd love to refer to this talk anyway.
