This is *so* not the way I view hotels. I've stayed in a fair few high-end rooms, but I generally find them over-fussy and over the top. TBH I'm happy with a simple Ibis hotel room that has a good desk.

"I want the hotel I’m staying in to be as far away from the style of my home as possible, so bring on the chandeliers, taffeta curtains, plush carpets and teams of people to tidy up after me."

My hotel charged $100 for a baguette. I’ll just eat a bag of chips, thanks

My hotel suite was so nice I didn’t want to leave the room, but paying exorbitant prices for room service wasn’t in the budget.

@sister_ratched Just stayed in a fancy Sydney hotel with *the* most stupid lighting system ever. And that's a title for which there's a lot of competition!
