Since we’ve learned that petty domestic complaints do well On Here, I present my newest dumbest complaint. I wandered into a domestic house-husband subreddit with an anodyne question about whether or not to put these pods in that detergent dispenser, and kicked over a goddamn hornets’ nest.
The correct answer seems to be “just throw it into the dishwasher; don’t use pods at all, you cretin; don’t use dishwashers at all because fan death; don’t eat because it’s bad for the planet; how dare you for asking,” so I’d love a second opinion here.
@cowperthwait just use paper plates, problem solved
@chris How very dare you
@cowperthwait I mean I suppose you could eat your beans straight out of the can
1. you must put the pod in the detergent container with the snap lid *and* powder or liquid detergent in the other bin. the snap lid opens for main wash cycle. no detergent in the other cup? no detergent for first pass 2. your dishwasher is very efficient and reuses water incredibly well
@cowperthwait Throw every redditor into the trash compactor on level three and stop worrying about it.
@cowperthwait as usual, Technology Connections has the correct opinion, but you probably won't like it.

I was right about dishwasher pods, and now I can prove it

YouTube
@cowperthwait tbh, I started twitching at the branding/usage/spelling of “pac”, why is capitalism?

@cowperthwait there’s a YouTuber who did a whole thing on dishwashers and detergent.

Best outcomes: put pod in dispenser, put powder on to of dispenser, run water so it’s hot. Start cycle.

This does initial rinse with hot water and a bit of powder.

Then clears the water and does the main cycle with the pod.

Changed my world
