Today I learned the San Marino Grand Prix from my youth was actually not in San Marino.

It was just another name for Imola, which is in Italy, not San Marino.

@jerome
And first grand prix held in Baku, AZE, (Technically) Asia.
Was named "Grand prix of Europe".

And that race (GP of Europe, Baku, 2016) messes a lot of statistics for Baku GP as a lot of them is just a copy-paste from "Get All AZE GPs and copy to article" without adding these statistics for 2016 when it was on same circuit. :D

AZE - because I always have problem with writing Azerbaijan(?) in english :D
Sorry for all Azers!

@wikiyu it's a great point! Yeah the Grand Prix of Europe is an odd one.

Also an interesting one, the 70th anniversary Grand Prix. I guess it couldn't be the British grand price twice.

70th Anniversary Grand Prix - Wikipedia

@jerome Reminds me of the European Grand Prix when I was little, which was another name for the Spanish Grand Prix at Jérez.

@wikiyu

@EdwinG @jerome yeah because there is a rule that only one gp has the same name in a season.
So there is US grand prix, Vegas grand prix etc
European was introduced to have only one Germany GP and second one was European, then it moved to other countries like Spain and beautiful Jerez circuit and... Outside of Europe to Baku :-)
And Baku ... There was some political tension to not name it Azerbaijan... I think from Turkey or ruSSia
