Four years ago today I went into the office to coordinate the evacuation of operations. We had no idea what was ahead of us. That was the last time I saw some of those workers alive.

Yesterday there was a big meeting with 150+ in a stuffy conference room patting themselves on their back for getting through the pandemic. One of the speakers was a mass shooting trauma doctor who talked about always being aware of your surroundings. The doctor of course was unmasked.

Two years later, my former colleagues are still patting themselves on the back and proclaiming they will overcome Trump 2 just like they overcame Trump 1 and COVID. I...just nod and say good luck.

@KanaMauna The ignorance of the medical profession will never stop to amaze me. I get that the average person trusts the official messaging and gets on with their life. However, healthcare workers who are surrounded by sick people every day, I don't get the complacency. It's a level of cognitive dissonance that breaks the mold for me.
All that to say, I hear you and you are not alone.
