
@cabel things like this depress me. I’ve spent an entire career sweating the details and trying to make an app that feels enjoyable.
Nothing I’ve ever worked on has made more money or had more users in its lifetime than temu does in a day.
@cabel There was an interesting article studying web design trends in Japan that suggested there may be some Japanese cultural affinity for designs I might call “busy.”

And, holy shit, wondering if someone I help with web design likes cluttered designs because he’s used Japanese web sites a lot.
But anyway, Temu is of course Chinese but wondering if there’s some related reasoning. I’d also guess Temu just wants customers to be in sensory overload.
