I think the way K. Welker of NBC discussed her phone interview w/ #Trump where he said that "he does not expect to send US troops onto the island to *secure the oil*" has a lot of meaning.

Trump has always talked about taking oil (e.g., Iraq), & controlling Kharg would be in US interest for several reasons. My guess is the US does/will use at least special forces there.
