Razu Razu@damienHalme It deeply frustrates me when designers do this because it really does not have to be that way. There are so many ways to make interesting challenges without requiring specified knowledge, and even when it is needed to make a certain construction work out there are may ways in which a player can either be given that information or helpfully clued towards finding it on their own. When it is a simple check of if you know something or not it does not deserve to be called a puzzle.
@studio369 Exactly! Trivia was already ... trivial... before the internet and now critical thinking and challenging our prebuilt schemata are such crucial functions. Would that the world's puzzle designers test us in ways that make us better thinkers, not rote memorizers. 😅
