getting a lot of email may be unfortunate but getting these types of numbers in OmniFocus is literally tragic, it is inherently a hell of one's own making, the downfall that naturally follows hubris

@glyph Can relate. That's why I explored a paper-based approach that would keep me from carpet-bombing myself with tasks. And it really solved it for me.

@monospace the main issue is that paper systems have failed me for super critical stuff like "if I don't remember to do this before april 7 I will go to jail for tax evasion". I use paper for breakdowns whenever possible so I don't end up in this situation, but sometimes there is a Series of Unfortunate Events and I just need to do a big review

@monospace the introduction of the "planned" / "due" distinction has been REALLY helpful for this though, probably halved the time that it takes me to recalibrate when I'm overwhelmed
