@EUCommission THE LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS ARE DELIBERATELY DISCRIMINATORY TOWARDS IRISH APPLICANTS
@humanhorseshoes @EUCommission as is the requirement of an university degree. As if people with a good and actually much more practical education would be less worthy to have a word in the government...
@BlackWolf @humanhorseshoes @EUCommission The nature of the work is anything but practical, so it makes sense to ask for a university degree.
@Gina @BlackWolf @EUCommission again for the stupid, the requirement to be B2 in two EU languages and EXCLUDE English, an official language of Ireland, and the reason that English is an officual EU language post Brexit because “too many people speak” English EXCLUDES Irish people by default

@humanhorseshoes

I do not know whether you maliciously spread wrong information, but your statement is not true.

It is specifically stated that English is allowed as one of the two languages.

Apart from that, it is kinda weird that you compare yourself with a russian minority in the Baltics, as the russian minority mostly immigrated there during the solviet era (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Russians_in_Estonia)

@mitgitumgekippt I would invite you to actually go and look this issue up instead of telling me shit I already know.

Language discrimination IS a problem for Irish citizens and we do have an official EU language but we are not to the level demanded by the EU.

Я также говорю по-русски, спасибo

@mitgitumgekippt Also accusing me of "maliciously spreading misinformation" is defamatory so I would ask you to withdraw that slur
@Gina @BlackWolf @EUCommission I have two so what is the issue apart from identifying as Irish because I am Irish, an EU state excluded from the commission because the British decimated us and killed our language. We are in the same position as Russian speakers in the Baltics but in our case we speak an official EU language that is excluded and perversely this language is English

@humanhorseshoes
Doesn't the bit of Irish thought in the Irish education system count as a second official language?

The French and Walloons are cooked for sure tho.
@EUCommission

Dia dhuit @humanhorseshoes, applicants must have a good knowledge of two EU official languages, of which one is a working language of the EU (C1 level- EN, FR or DE), while their second EU language must be at least B2 level. Many Irish students acquire a B2 level or higher in Gaeilge upon completion of their post-primary school studies, in addition to another language such as FR, DE or ES, which means they easily fulfil the language requirements .
