Stoked that the movie “Sentimental value” brings home the first ever Oscar for a Norwegian feature film.

Getting 9 nominations is obviously huge in itself, but bringing an award home is something else entirely!

As the date approached it also became more and more clear that anything beyond the “best international film” category would be a massive surprise (bar Stellan for best supporting actor maybe), so pulling it off must have been a huge relief for the team!

Anyway: massive recommend! 🇳🇴

I should probably add that this movie is (the director) Joakim Triers love letter to the academy, in that the story is centered around the movie industry, so it might not be as good for the general audience as some of his previous films.

I personally loved it, but some of his previous movies (e.g. “Oslo August 31st” and “The worst person in the world”) are subjectively even better
