One of the individuals in the documentary mentioned how he barely trusts news online, especially from social media. This is something I relate to. There are many times I will see a headline on instagram (mostly political) and get extremely skeptical. I try to fact check any information that seems sketchy, but i’m sure I have consumed fake news and thought it was real. #so315
@lilpoundcake1 I definitely agree with you! People's trust in the information they see online is constantly dwindling, especially with the rise of AI images/videos currently. As you pointed out, fact-checking and verifying the information is an essential component to receiving information, but it just feels increasingly harder to discern what's fake and not. #so315
@rmd1228 @lilpoundcake1 I thought about the use of AI while watching as well. When there was a video of a woman ripping what was doctored as the constitution, it really made me think of this. Now with just a simple prompt people can make videos or pictures that are extremely fake as evidence for this propaganda type media. It honestly worries me if I have fallen for something even though I do try to do some additional research. #so315
