So this came after the Bolshevik-Makhnovist conflict, where “After Nykyfor Hryhoriv mutinied against the Bolsheviks, tensions between the two factions culminated with the Makhnovists being declared outlaws and Makhno resigning his command within the Red Army.” So they were consistently breaking agreements they’d made, refused to surrender and reintegrate with the Red Army to fight the greater Polish-Soviet war, and were thus declared outlaws. Not a great look imo.

Usually when you make a claim it’s up to you to support it with some kind of evidence.
Asking someone to refute something they disagree with is basically asking someone to prove a negative.

It applies to both statements. Ideally they would have posted examples of anarchists who sided with leftist and were killed afterwards, and you would have cited examples of anarchist siding with capitalists and then being betrayed.
Tbf there are probably examples of both scenarios, as anarchist by their own nature aren’t exactly a unified political body.
Because anarchists (of any kind) being betrayed by communists (of any kind) is such a common historical trope, you don’t have to do the work of gathering that information yourself. People have already done it.
I am aware, but in any kind of debate in an open forum you should avoid any position that assumes a preconceived notion. I’m not saying everyone needs to submit a works cited page, but at least giving a brief summary of the events you are using to support your argument helps eliminate any kind of miscommunication.

A communist and an anarchist walk into a bar. The anarchist proceeds to get shithoused, then fights a bonehead. The commie discusses political philosophy and theory with their friends while this goes down, then criticizes the anarchist for “performative gestures” instead of strategizing for long term effective action. The anarchist has a few more shots, smokes a cigarette, and waits for the next bonehead to arrive. The commies leave after deciding on what their world will look like after the revolution but make no plans on how to kickoff the revolution.

A killing? Whoever owns the shithole dive commies and anarchists hang out in is not making a killing slinging $1.50 PBRs and $3.50 wells. If the commie really has an issue with capitalism they could a) not patronize the bar, or b) actually attempt to seize the means of production from the corporate conglomerate that owns 99% of alcohol manufacturing. The problem is that those people are out of reach, the bar owner lives in town. I would wager that the bar owner is at best a tax bracket above the anarchist and communist, both of whom have jobs themselves despite philosophical issues with capitalism. If we’re going to keep punching within the same class, at least punch the bigots.

YliasterIt is extremely heavily moderated in favor of communism, so it is a very big echo chamber. Everything seems very calm and respectable as long as you don’t dig too deep, because any dissenting opinions quickly get removed. So there isn’t a whole lot of argument that happens among .ml users. But checking the mod logs tells a very different story.
Also, it’s the only instance that the lead Lemmy dev uses, so anyone who wants to stay up to date on lemmy’s development is forced to federate with .ml. There have also been some controversies about the dev putting dev donations towards running the instance, which ruffled a lot of feathers from people who want to support the dev but not the instance.
I was all for the pro-communist bias, but I do agree it’s an echo chamber that shuts down dissenting opinions. I was banned from a community for criticising China with depth, sadly many communists are wholly incapable of adequately addressing the real failures of China without passing it off as no big deal in an apologetic 1-2 liner at best (before proceeding to write paragraphs about how it’s the US’ fault and how other progressive countries “will be considered reactionary in the future”, or some other dumb shit).
The donations thing seems dumb though. You want to support the dev but not the instance?..weird.
