My increasingly inaccurately named mee goreng sauce now includes: sambal oelek, tom yum paste, ketchup, kecap manis, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and MSG.

Add some tofu, mushrooms, capsicum, tomato, noodles, canola oil, spring onions, and mung bean sprouts, and you've got mee goreng, Carterton style.

@thomasbeagle ketchup? My old school friend made the best goreng but she only used about five spices. Garlic and onion. She garnished with fresh Coriander. I could never replicate it as she never measured anything.
