Professional therapy is expensive because most humans get along just fine with the amateur knock off.

If you already know that you’re trans, don’t have any other mental issues, and have family who aren’t transphobic assholes, you may be better off focusing your time and money on finding a supportive PGP for when social transition isn’t enough.

(Or, if you’re unlucky enough to live in a place where transphobic assholes have infected the government, maybe put that money to an escape plan.)
