@jleiper Oh, nice! Yeah, they are really great. Been with them since when they were still VRTUCAR. For me personally it saves so much money compared to owning a car + not having to shovel the entire driveway. π
Have to book far in advance for holidays though.
People leaving junk in the car is indeed annoying but it's fortunately not that common.
Oh, and if you happen to have a credit card that offers rental insurance, you can use that for Communauto too. Saves a bit of money.
@deathbydenim @jleiper I've looked into that option and the fine print scares me, much as I'd prefer to pay $3.50/driver/month instead of $17-something.
Specifically, I think credit cards normally cover one type of liability, but there's another kind that the Communauto insurance also covers.
@Centretowner @jleiper Oh yes, I think I know what you mean. The liability coverage, right? That's still covered by Communauto (and you pay for it). The credit card just takes care of the Loss Damage Waiver.
The fine print that scared me more was the "Power of attorney and the right of subrogation" since it seemed very broad. But they said they only use it when the claim amount is very high and it becomes more efficient for communauto to deal with the credit card company.
