I upgrade my #popOS from 22.04 (gnome desktop, X11) to 24.04 (cosmic desktop, wayland) and I don't like it, some of my apps doesn't work, apps with X11 compatibily just a few, xdotool doesn't work anymore, and the most important thing is, when I close an app, when I launch again, cosmic doesn't save the last position on the screen and size either. I really thinking change of distro, and yes, I think I hate cosmic desktop
@alexxx007 There is no Wayland compositor that supports restoring the previous state of an application window yet. This requires a Wayland protocol and then every DE and toolkit needs to implement that protocol.
A protocol was initially proposed in 2020 but it's only just now getting the approvals it needs to become standardized. So when that happens COSMIC will also be able to implement support for it.
