@SFBayTide I am reasonably sure I know what I was saying when I was gesturing at it, but it's just such a bad picture.

I think the idea is, if you are trying to reason about what a distributed system might do, you have to consider all of its possible inputs (innumerable but countable), plus everything that could be reordered, plus everything that could NOT happen, which is a lot to consider
