I've generated thousands of images over the years, but I think this one has something I don't remember seeing before. It seems 3D to me. Are my eyes doing something funny or can you see it too?

I created it with a photo mixing software I wrote a few weeks ago.

@rich interesting :) I wonder if additionally the fact that there are sharp noisy textures next to blurry ones contributes to the effect.

Chromostereopsis can appear much stronger for people who wear glasses. Only time I felt lucky to wear them in my later years.

@bit101 @hamoid I did not know that. I notice it in (2D) VR on my Quest2 (in 2D menus and HUD's) very strongly - so much so that you could probably build a parallax platformer/shooter for me using reds and blues :)
