I’ve been feeling a little squeamish about this because I feel like I’m losing out on a bunch of fitness stuff but today reminded me that I literally hiked and mountain biked for years with no Apple Watch.

You can even track workouts in Apple‘s Fitness app now without a watch, which is wild. You lose heart rate and effort but that’s basically it! The map and everything are still there.

I also forgot that Pedometer++ doesn’t require a watch, and has widgets!

Apple Watch who?

@developerjustin I had the galaxy watch and honestly when I wear it now I'm more annoyed than anything else. I love my dumb little casio. Not *everything* has to be tracked and optimized.
@developerjustin also I realized I had total mental load burnout from having to charge multiple devices. I also got my ipad classic out and the battery lasts at least a week. My watch couldn't last 48h (but I used it as a sleep tracker and that pumped a lot of energy). I long for the days I could go to bed without having to worry about battery levels.
@catbrainz I experienced something very similar with travel recently! It was the night before we left and I was doing my ceremonial sweep of all the chargers in the house and realized that with neither of us wearing smartwatches, I was able to skip two.
