Came across such a marvellous phrase which has sadly fallen out of common use, but I think we should reinstate it forthwith: "it's all Lombard Street to a China orange", meaning very long odds for or against something - from London's Lombard Street, historically home to banks, as a metonym for all the money in England; and a China orange as something of trifling value.
