I love how, now that the MacBook Neo is here, suddenly a lot of people seem just fine with Mac OS 26.

"Well, what can we do? It comes preinstalled."

If you're doing a review of the Neo and you don't like the current iteration of Mac OS and its dreadful UI, you could at least *say that*. Not just like, pretend Tahoe never happened and all is fine because the MacBook Neo is cool hardware.

@morrick As someone who has many criticisms of Tahoe, it's not really significant enough to mention in a review.

The Tahoe backlash was always concentrated among the top 1% nerdiest Apple enthusiasts, who all happen to be active on Mastodon. The wider tech community never made much of a fuss about it. It continues to work about as well as it did before and a new coat of paint ultimately matters very little to them, let alone the average consumer.

@aphexarin @morrick “About as well as it did before” is faint praise, considering things have been going downhill since Bug Sur.
