Oh this is rich. People want to shame open source maintainers into not using LLMs, only handwritten code. You don't deserve that opinion if you aren't a material supporter of the maintainers and even then at best we're throwing quarters in front of people and expecting them to work like an employee. The social contract is opensource developer put code in a dumpster and you are a racoon that takes it in the night.
@mistersql I agree.with your main point on open source and LLMs. But I wouldn't call those who.l download and use open source code who don't give back "thieves in the night" or racoons stealing from a dumpster. That reasoning would similarly make anyone taking a.freely given away book on a Little Free Library a thief, despite the original book owner explicitly offering it up for free.
Businesses that depend on open source SHOULD give back, but they aren't thieves if they don't.
