@kas you have identified one of many problems with AI technology as it currently exists.

AI is not possible without human generated content training it. The content that existed before the year 2020 was all human generated, as time goes on, that store of information will become polluted with slop, which will degrade the performance of AI. It will also fail to incorporate discussion of new ideas, new technology, new world events, unless there are humans who continue writing about these things without AI.

But as everyone is being encouraged to use AI, even threatened to use AI or else they will fail to meet deadlines and could lose their job as a result, there will be no source of new training material to teach AI about new technology, new world events, new anything. All that AI knows will remain stuck in the decade of the 2020s.

The AI corporations will have only one option to keep their services operational, and that will be to spy on and mine the natural content created by people who refuse to use AI (like people on the Fediverse).
