@kevinrns reminder: the geneva convention only exists BECAUSE of what CANDA DID DURING WW2! in other words... canada doesn't constantly say, "Sorry" because they are polite.. it's because they have a lot to apologize for as a culture

Canada exists because of land stolen from First Nations, and horrifically tried to erase First Nations in cruel assimilation systems.
Canada before WW2 turned away boats of refugees. Famously the Komagata Maru. 1939s jewish refugee ship MS St. Louis was turned away at Halifax NS.
